Women's basketball team picks up 20th win, tops Hillsborough

The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team used a big second quarter to pull away from Hillsborough Community College in a Suncoast Conference game Saturday afternoon at Titan Field House.

The Titans started the second quarter on an 18-4 run that came from all over the court.  Claire Bady had five points during the span while Embla Andersson, Mariah Batz and Angeni Worley each hit 3-pointers.

The win was No. 20 for the Titans who are 20-5 overall and 5-2 in the Suncoast Conference, a game behind Florida Southwestern.

Brianna Lewis had a season-high 14 assists to go with eight points. Alexandrine Obouh Fegue finished with a team-high 20 points with eight rebounds and four blocked shots. Angeni Worley hit five 3-pointers to finish with 17 points in the game.

The Titans will host the College of Central Florida on Monday in a non-conference matchup. The Patriots have won three straight heading into Monday's game. The game will tip off at 5:30 p.m. and be shown live on WEFS-TV and online at efsctitans.com/webcast.
