Women's basketball team cruises past Hillsborough

The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team jumped out early and cruised to a Suncoast Conference win on the road Wednesday night.

The Titans defeated Hillsborough Community College 85-42 to improve to 18-4 overall and 3-1 in the conference.

Sophomore Mariah Batz finished with 10 points which gave her over 500 points in her career at Eastern Florida State College.

Batz was one of five players who scored in double figures and 11 players scored for the Titans in the contest. Point guard Brianna Lewis led the attack with 16 points and seven assists with zero turnovers while Dysheka Price finished with 11 points. Batz, Claire Bady and Embla Andersson each had 10 points in the game.

The Titans will travel to St. Petersburg on Saturday for a Suncoast Conference game before hosting No. 17 Florida Southwestern in a battle of the top two teams in the conference next Wednesday at Titan Field House.
