Women's basketball team defeats St. Petersburg

The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team used a big second half to defeat St. Petersburg in a Suncoast Conference game Wednesday night on Titan Pride Night at Titan Field House.

The Titans struggled shooting from outside so turned to the inside game to lead them as Claire Bady, Brianna Lewis and Alexandrine Obouh Fegue led the way in a 69-53 victory.

All tied up 35-35 in the third quarter, the Titans went on a 10-2 run and headed to the fourth quarter with a nine-point lead.

From there Bady took over scoring 12 of her game-high 18 points in the fourth quarter. It was the second straight strong game for Bady, who finished with seven rebounds and three assists.

Lewis finished with 16 points and Obouh Fegue had 14 points and nine rebounds as the Titans improved to 17-4 overall and 2-1 in the conference.

 The Titans will travel to Hillsborough Community College next Wednesday night for a 5:30 p.m. tipoff. The Titans will return to Titan Field House Feb. 7 against Florida Southwestern. Game time is 5 p.m.
