Trudy Walker named Region 8 women's basketball player of the week

Eastern Florida State College's Trudy Walker is the NJCAA Region 8 women's basketball player of the week for the week ending Feb. 19.

The sophomore from Fort Pierce averaged 16.5 points and 22 rebounds in two games during the voting period, shooting 53.3 percent from the field. The forward posted consecutive double-doubles in Southern Conference games against Broward and Indian River State.

For the season, Walker has 15 double-doubles and is averaging 14.6 points and 12.8 rebounds per game.

Walker and the Titans will host Palm Beach State College Wednesday night in the final regular season game of the season at Titan Field House. Tipoff is at 5:30 p.m. and admission is free.
