Titan women's basketball team hits road for conference match

The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team hits the road looking to go to 2-0 in the Southern Conference.

The Titans won their conference opener, defeating Florida Southwestern on the road last week. On Tuesday night, they will travel to Miami Dade to face the Sharks who are 0-1 in the conference, falling to first-place Palm Beach State.

Eastern Florida State College is led by sophomore Trudy Walker who has four straight double doubles and 10 on the season. The forward comes into Tuesday's game averaging 14.4 points and 8.9 rebounds per game.

Miami Dade is 10-9 overall but come in losing three straight games. The Sharks are led by Emporess James who is averaging 14.4 points and 12.5 rebounds in 17 games. Teammate Savannah Clark comes into the contest averaging 13.6 points.

The Titans will return home Saturday afternoon for a doubleheader with the men's team and it is Green Dot Initiative Day as the women's team tips off the day of basketball at 2 p.m. against Broward College. The game will be broadcast on WEFS-TV and online at efsctitans.com/webcast
