Five players scored in double figures as the Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team defeated Hillsborough Community College 89-84 in the JUCO Shootout at Chipola College.
The Titans outscored Hillsborough 21-5 in the third quarter and held on for the win to improve to 3-4 on the season.
Mariah Batz scored 21 points including five 3-pointers while Sherae Cherafant and Victoria Morales each had 14 points. Cherafant also grabbed nine rebounds and had six assists in the game. Trudy Walker finished with 10 points and nine rebounds while Dysheka Price finished with 10 points and seven rebounds.
Eastern Florida State College outrebounded Hillsborough 51-31 in the game. The Titans will face No. 1-ranked Gulf Coast State on Saturday.
