EFSC Titan Women Fall to Santa Fe

Eastern Florida's women's basketball team fell 76-56 to Santa Fe College on Tuesday at the Titan Field House.

Eastern Florida dropped to 1-4 in the NJCAA Region 8 non-conference match up. Santa Fe improved to 4-3.

Santa Fe led 19-17 after the first quarter and pulled away late in the second quarter for a 43-34 halftime lead.

The Saints put the game away in the second half, leading 63-49 after three quarters and holding the Titans to seven fourth-quarter points.

Eastern Florida committed 30 turnovers and surrendered 15 steals. It shot 31 percent (19 of 61) from the floor and 22 percent (8 of 36) from the three-point line. The Titans also missed seven free throws.

Santa Fe was 27 of 82 from the floor for 32 percent and two for 19 from the three-point line for 10.5 percent. The Saints were 20 of 26 from the free-throw line. They had 10 turnovers.
Eastern Florida won the rebound battle 54-46 but had only two steals.

Arian Emanuael-Wright led Santa Fe with 25 points while Tatiyana Rock contributed 20.

Trudy Walker led Eastern Florida with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Idaysha Sealey scored 11 for the Titans while Sherae Cherafant added 10.

Next up for the Titans is a visit from Region 8's second-ranked team, Chipola College, which moved to 5-0 with a 91-42 victory at ASA College Miami on Tuesday.

Tip off is 2 p.m. Friday at the Titan Field House. Admission is free.
