Titan Women Sign DeLand's Cherenfant

Eastern Florida women's basketball team has signed 5-foot, 7-inch guard Sherae Cherenfant of DeLand High in DeLand, Florida.

Cherenfant averaged 24.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and  2.8 assists per game last season. She scored more than 1,700 points in her four years as a letter winner. She led Volusia County in scoring in 2013-14, 2014-15, and 2015-16 and was a three-time first team News Journal All-Area Team selection.

"Sherae is an explosive player who can really score the basketball," said Eastern Florida head coach Jim Grimes. "She is lightning quick and will be amazing in our system. She is a very quiet kid, who just loves to work. I think that she will fit in very well here at Eastern Florida."

Cherenfant joins Victoria Morales, a 6-foot guard/forward from Hagerty High School in Oviedo, Florida; Brooklyn Cruz, a 5-foot, 8-inch guard from Palo Verde High in Las Vegas; and Carly Epstein, a 6-foot, 2-inch center from Palm Beach, Florida and Palm Beach Gardens High School as a signee.

The Titans finished the season 20-10 overall and 13-2 in the FCSAA Southern Conference, claiming their second straight conference title and advancing to the NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA Tournament for the second straight season.
