Softball loses doubleheader at Santa Fe

The Eastern Florida State College softball team lost a pair of Citrus Conference games Sunday afternoon on the road.

The Titans, playing for the second straight day due to a rainout earlier in week, struggled for most of the day against Santa Fe College, losing 8-0 in five innings and then 7-4.

Eastern Florida State College is now 13-15 in the conference and 29-17 overall heading into another busy week of conference games.

After being shutout and managing just one hit in Game 1, the Titans fell behind 7-0 after two innings in Game 2. Livie Davis put the Titans on the board, hitting a three-run home run in the fifth inning. Mia Sanchez would make it 7-4 with an RBI single later in the fifth.

Destiny Lake held Santa Fe scoreless for five innings in relief, allowing three hits and struck out one.

Eastern Florida State College will host Polk State College in a conference doubleheader on Tuesday beginning at 3 p.m. at Titan Softball Complex. On Thursday the Titans will travel to Hillsborough Community College and then on Saturday they will be back at Titan Softball Complex against St. Petersburg College.
