Softball team hosts College of Central Florida in conference doubleheader Saturday

The Eastern Florida State College softball team will host the College of Central Florida in a Citrus Conference doubleheader on Saturday afternoon.

The Titans, who are 12-12 in the conference, will face Central Florida who is 22-4 in the conference and ranked No. 10 in the latest NJCAA Division I national rankings.

The game will feature two of the top three hitting teams in Region 8 as the Patriots are leading Region 8 with a .387 batting average this season while the Titans are third in Region 8, hitting .369.

The College of Central Florida won the first two games of the series in March and have won seven in a row. The Patriots are led by Megan Loftis who is hitting .514 in 40 games with six doubles. Loftis also has 54 stolen bases which leads Region 8. Teammate Leah Clark is hitting .464 with 10 home runs, 10 doubles and five triples. She has also stolen 38 bases.

Eastern Florida State College is led by Jenna Borkey who is hitting .423 this season with 35 stolen bases which is fifth in Region 8. Teammate Livie Davis is hitting .416 with eight doubles.

Saturday's doubleheader will begin at 1 p.m. at Titan Softball Complex and will be shown live online at the EFSC Titans YouTube page.
