
Softball team hosts Indian River in key conference doubleheader Tuesday
The Eastern Florida State College softball team will host Indian River State College in a key Citrus Conference doubleheader on Tuesday.
The Titans will take on the Pioneers beginning at 4 p.m. at Titan Softball Complex.
Indian River State College comes into the matchup No. 4 in the national poll and is in second place in the conference at 19-3.
The Pioneers are second in Region 8 in team ERA with a 1.97 ERA this season led by J'dah Girigorie who leads Region 8 in ERA with a 1.07 and strikeouts with 158. Girigorie is 19-2 this season with five saves.
Eastern Florida State College is 12-10 in the conference and in fifth place I the standings. The Titans have won four of the past five and are led by freshman Livie Davis who is hitting .429 the is season with eight doubles, a couple of home runs and has driven in 29. Teammate Jenna Borkey is hitting .419 and is among the top five in stolen bases with 34.
