Softball team hosts SCF-Manatee on Thursday

The Eastern Florida State College softball team will be back at Titan Softball Complex Thursday afternoon for a Citrus Conference doubleheader.

The Titans, who have won three in a row and five of the past seven, will host the State College of Florida, Manatee in a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m.

The State College of Florida, Manatee has won four of the past six games and is sitting 8-14 in the conference. Manatee has one of the better pitching staffs in Region 8 led by Julianna Stachowicz who comes in with a 1.11 ERA in 15 appearances and is 4-1 on the season.

The Titans offense has been on a roll in the past week, averaging 9.75 runs per game and has gone 3-1 over the past four games against nationally-ranked teams. The trio of Livie Davis, Kyla Leppin and McKenzie Jewell have led the attack as all three had multiple home runs in the doubleheader sweep against No. 19 Seminole State College on Saturday. Davis is fourth in Region 8 in batting average this season, hitting .471.
