Softball team begins busy week Tuesday on the road

The Eastern Florida State College softball team will begin a busy week of Citrus Conference games Tuesday afternoon.

The Titans, who are ranked 19th in the latest NJCAA Division I poll, will travel to Polk State College for a doubleheader with the Eagles. The doubleheader will begin at 2 p.m.

Eastern Florida State College comes into the week 18-8 on the season and is No. 2 in Region 8 in team batting average, hitting .388 this season. Livie Davis is hitting. 483 with six doubles while Jenna Borkey is hitting .479 and is second in Region 8 with 28 stolen bases. Brooke Theisen is hitting .425 with 11 doubles.

Then Eastern Florida State College will host Hillsborough Community College on Thursday for a conference doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. Hillsborough CC comes into the week hitting .287 as a team led by Brooke Markiewicz who is hitting .355 with six doubles.

The Titans will finish out the week at St. Petersburg College Saturday for a conference doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. St. Petersburg College is led by Gabrielle Rascher who is hitting .355 while the pitchers have been solid with a 4.43 ERA this season.

Thursday's games will be at Titan Softball Complex and admission is free.
