Softball team hosts Santa Fe in conference doubleheader Thursday
The Eastern Florida State College softball team will be home Thursday afternoon for a Citrus Conference game with Santa Fe College.
The No. 16 ranked Titans are 15-3 overall and 0-2 in the conference heading into the doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. at Titan Softball Complex.
Santa Fe College is 11-6 overall and is coming off a sweep against Daytona State College in the conference opener. The Saints have won three in a row and are hitting just under .300 on the season. Sydney Fowler leads the team, hitting .400 in 16 games with eight doubles and two home runs.
Ryleigh Bauer comes into the contest with a 7-1 record and an ERA of 2.61, the seven wins is tied for third in the state.
Eastern Florida State College duo of Jenna Borkey and Livie Davis are both hitting over .500 this season as Borkey comes into the doubleheader hitting .519 in 18 games with 21 stolen bases, which is tied for second in Region 8. Davis is hitting .511 in 18 games with three triples which is tied for fourth in Region 8.
On the mound, Hannah Strickland is fourth in the state in ERA with a 0.97 ERA in seven games this season.
