Softball team hosts Indian River on Sophomore Night

The Eastern Florida State College softball team will host No. 15 Indian River State College Wednesday in a Southern Conference doubleheader on Sophomore Night at Titan Softball Complex.

The Titans will recognize the five sophomores following the doubleheader as they will be playing for the final time at home.

Makenzie Fore, Trinity Howard, Courtney Stout, Mandy Hedetniemi-Taylor and Rachel Lamoureaux have all been staples on the Titans lineup cards the past two seasons and on Wednesday will be honored for their careers.

But first Eastern Florida State College will battle Indian River State College in a conference matchup as the Titans look to get their first win against the Pioneers this season.

The Titans have won three of the past five games and the offense has been a big reason, averaging five runs on 10 hits in the past five games. Indian River State College has a two-game win streak and has three shutouts in last four wins.

Wednesday's doubleheader will begin at 3 p.m. due to the threat of bad weather in the area. The games will be shown on the EFSC Titans Sports YouTube channel and admission is free to games at Titan Softball Complex.
