Softball team hosts busy day of softball on Saturday

The Eastern Florida State College softball team will host a busy day of softball Saturday at Titan Softball Complex.

The Titans will begin the day at 1 p.m. playing Southern Conference foe Indian River State College. Then Indian River State College will play the State College of Florida, Manatee at 3 p.m.

The final game of the day will be then Titans taking on the State College of Florida, Manatee at 5 p.m.

Starting pitcher Mandy Hedetniemi-Taylor has a 1.67 ERA over 96 2/3 innings and has struck out over 100 hitters this season. Offensively, Sam Clark is hitting .366 in 29 games this season.

Indian River State College comes into the day 18-11 on the season and is led by pitcher Alexis Ruiz who has allowed three earned runs in 18 1/3 innings for a 1.47 ERA.

The State College of Florida, Manatee is 14-14 on the season and is led by Alissa Kessler who is hitting .469 in 28 games this season.

Games will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday and admission to Titan Softball Complex is free.
