Softball team on the road for conference doubleheader Wednesday

The Eastern Florida State College softball team will hit the road for a Southern Conference doubleheader against No. 18 Indian River State College on Wednesday.

The Titans, who are 0-1 in the conference and 14-21 overall, will face the Pioneers for the first time this season.

Indian River State College is playing its first conference game of the season Wednesday and are 29-7 overall this season. The Pioneers are second in Region VIII hitting .384 as a team this season and have stolen 175 bases this season, led by Daija Torchia who has 48.

Eastern Florida State College is led by Sam Clark who is hitting .366 this season with 14 RBI. Mandy Hedetniemi-Taylor comes into the doubleheader with a 1.67 ERA this season and 99 strikeouts.

The doubleheader at Indian River State College will begin at 2 p.m.
