Softball team loses a pair of games at Santa Fe

The Eastern Florida State College softball team lost a pair of games on the road Tuesday.

The Titans, who fell to 11-18 on the season, lost Game 1 in the bottom of the seventh inning and then Santa Fe College used the long ball to pick up the sweep.

In Game 1, Eastern Florida State College came back from an early 2-0 deficit to tie the game in the sixth inning on a Rachel Lamoureaux sacrifice fly and then with the bases loaded in the top of the seventh inning, Sam Clark hit a two-run single to give Eastern Florida State College a 4-2 lead.

But Santa Fe took advantage of an error and a couple of walks to win score three runs and pick up the 5-4 win.

Trinity Howard, Gracie Snell and Makenzie Fore each had a hit and scored a run in the contest.

In Game 2 Santa Fe hit a two-run home run in the second inning and went on to post the 3-0 victory.

Clark and Ava Bassani each had two hits in the game.

Eastern Florida State College will host Polk State College next Tuesday for a doubleheader beginning at 1:30 p.m. at Titan Softball Complex.
