Kayla Domon named to NFCA South Region Second Team

Eastern Florida State College softball player Kayla Domon has been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association South Region second team.

The sophomore outfielder from Knoxville, Tennessee finished with a .416 batting average with nine doubles and six triples in 49 games this season. The leadoff hitter finished tied for second in the state in stolen bases with 48 which is also second in program history. The 48 stolen bases is also tied for 10th in the nation.

"We are thrilled to to hear that the NFCA recognized Kayla as she adds All region accolades to her resume. She is the epitome of a great teammate, hard worker, and a true competitor," Eastern Florida State College softball coach Shelby Petik said. "We are thankful for the impact she's made during her time here and the legacy she will leave on the Eastern Florida State College softball program."

The centerfielder was named first team All-State earlier this postseason and is the first Titan to be named to the second team since 2019 when both Katelyn Wilfert and Nikki Pennington were honored.

Domon is one of 78 student-athletes representing 37 programs who received 2022 NFCA NJCAA Division I All-Region accolades and is now eligible for the 2022 NFCA NJCAA Division I All-America squads.
