Georgia Highlands College
The Eastern Florida State College softball team went 1-2 on Saturday at the JUCO Kickoff in Clearwater.
The Titans opened the day with a 7-2 victory over the State College of Florida Manatee before falling to Georgia Highlands 11-3 and then lost to the No. 1 team in the country, Florida Southwestern 10-5.
Shaniyah Pope picked up the win against SCF-Manatee, tossing a complete game with seven strikeouts. Olivia Rivera had three hits and Pope, Kayla Domon and Meritxell Blesa each had two in the win.
In the second game of the day, Lauren Lightbody drove in two of the three runs in the loss to Georgia Highlands.
Eastern Florida State College will wrap up the tournament with two games on Sunday, Louisburg College at 8:30 a.m. and then St. Petersburg College at 11 a.m.
