Softball team hosts Broward in conference doubleheader Wednesday

The Eastern Florida State College softball team will host Broward College in the first home conference games of the season Wednesday.

The Titans only conference loss of the season came in a wild 13-10 game with Broward College at the Southern Conference Round Robin in Jensen Beach.

In that meeting sophomores Madison Neuhaus and Victoria Perez went 5-for-7 with five runs scored and five RBI.

"Broward was the surprise team in our conference tournament so we are expecting two great games at Titan Softball Complex," Eastern Florida State College softball coach Jim Beitia said. "We are playing very well right now and we are expecting good things."

The Titans come into the doubleheader winning four in a row and are 6-1 in the conference, tied with Indian River State College for first place.

Sophomore Katelyn Wilfert is coming off one of her best performances as a Titan, striking out 12 in a complete game win against Hagerstown Community College on Monday. For the season, Wilfert has 13 wins and a 1.49 ERA.

On Wednesday evening, the two teams meet for a doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m. and admission is free at Titan Softball Complex.
