Softball team splits doubleheader at home

The Eastern Florida State College softball team split a doubleheader with Sinclair Community College Thursday at Titan Softball Complex.

The Titans won the first game 5-1 and then dropped the second game 7-3.

In Game 1, sophomore Madison Neuhaus got things started with a two-run home run, her sixth of the season. Sarah Goldsmith would make it 3-0 with an RBI double.

Neuhaus would score two runs in the game and Katelyn Wilfert allowed one run and struck out five for the win.

In Game 2 Wilfert hit a two-run home run to give the Titans a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the first inning and would make it 3-1 in the second on a bases loaded walk.

But Sinclair would score four times in the third inning and two more times in the seventh for the win.

The Titans will travel to Miami to play ASA Miami on Saturday with the doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
