Softball team beats Miami Dade in final game of round robin

The Eastern Florida State College softball team wrapped up the Southern Conference Round Robin with a win over Miami Dade Sunday afternoon in Jensen Beach.

The Titans went 2-0 on Sunday and improved to 4-1 in the conference with the 4-1 victory against Miami Dade.

Gabriela Garcia and Katelyn Wilfert each had RBI singles in the third inning to take a 2-0 lead and then added two more in the fifth inning.

Miami Dade would get on the board in the sixth inning but Wilfert picked up the victory, allowing just the one unearned run on eight hits and striking out five.

Sarah Thomas scored twice and Garcia drove in two runs in the win.

Eastern Florida State College will be back at Titan Softball Complex Tuesday evening for a doubleheader with Lincoln Trail beginning at 4 p.m.
