Softball team picks up first conference win

The Eastern Florida State College softball team opened the conference season with a big win against ASA Miami in the Southern Conference Round Robin at Jensen Beach on Friday. 

The Titans defeated ASA Miami 13-4 in six innings, scoring multiple runs in all but one inning against the Silver Storm.

Sophomore Katelyn Wilfert had a good game, picking up the win on the mound and hit a home run in the game. Wilfert, Madison Neuhaus and Morgan Johnston each had two RBI in the game. Wilfert, Sarah Goldsmith and Sarah Thomas each scored twice as the Titans improved to 8-7 overall and 1-0 in the Southern Conference.

The Titans will play Broward College at 1 p.m. and then Palm Beach State College at 3 p.m. Saturday before wrapping up the weekend with games against Indian River State College and Miami Dade on Sunday.
