Softball team hosts FSC-Jacksonville on Friday

The Eastern Florida State College softball team opens the home season Friday afternoon at Titan Softball Complex on the Melbourne campus.

The Titans opened the regular season last weekend at the JUCO Kickoff in Clearwater and went 2-3 for the weekend.

On Friday afternoon the Titans will host the Florida State College at Jacksonville in a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. Florida State College at Jacksonville comes into the game 1-2 on the season.

The pitchers fared well in the opening weekend and head into the home opener with a 1.48 ERA. Sophomore pitcher Katelyn Wilfert has yet to allow an earned run in three appearances after recording 21 wins with a 2.42 ERA in her freshman season.

Offensively, the team is hitting .338 as a team and is averaging five runs per game.
