Softball team opens regular season in Clearwater

The Eastern Florida State College softball team will open the regular season this weekend at the JUCO Kickoff in Clearwater.

The Titans, who finished last season with 31 wins, will play six games in two days beginning Friday at noon against Pasco-Hernando State College at Eddie C. Moore Softball Complex. Eastern Florida State College will also play East Georgia State College at 4:20 p.m. and then wrap up Day 1 against St. Johns River State College at 6:40 p.m.

On Saturday the Titans will begin the day against Pensacola State College at 11 a.m. and then play Georgia Highlands College at 3:20 p.m. The softball team will wrap up the weekend of games against Hillsborough Community College at 5:40 p.m. 

The Titans are looking to build on last year's success as 10 sophomores are returning from last year's team including all-Southern Conference first team players Madison Neuhaus and Katelyn Wilfert. McKinleigh Millard and Katia Zavala both made the second team last year and are back with the Titans this season.

The home opener will be Friday, Feb. 7 in a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. against the Florida State College of Jacksonville.
