Pennington, Wilfert named to NFCA South Region second team

Two members of the Eastern Florida State College softball team were named to the NFCA South Region All-Region teams.

Sophomore Nikki Pennington and freshman Katelyn Wilfert were both named to the second team. The first and second teams each had 16 of the best players in the country.

Pennington, who will be going to Valdosta State in the fall, hit .480 this season for the Titans with 10 home runs and 43 RBI in 42 games. Wilfert finished her first season 21-12 on the mound, with a 2.95 ERA.

Eastern Florida State College was among the eight teams that had two players represented on the NFCA list.

All-Region players are nominated and selected by NFCA member head coaches in each of the three NJCAA regions.
