Softball team sweeps Parkland College

The Eastern Florida State College softball team swept a doubleheader with Parkland College Tuesday night at Titan Softball Complex.

The Titans scored four runs in the sixth inning of Game 1 to finish with an 8-0 victory. Hannah Crumblish and Nikki Pennington each scored twice and had three hits in the game. Olivia Everett allowed four hits in a complete game win.

In Game 2 the Titans opened the scoring in the third inning when Crumblish hit an RBI double, scoring Hunter Ruch. Pennington then crushed a pitch over the centerfield wall for a two-run home run. It was Pennington's fourth home run of the season.

Up 4-0 Parkland came back with three runs in the top of the fifth inning. But Pennington hit a sacrifice fly scoring Crumblish to make it 5-3.

From there pitcher Katelyn Wilfert retired seven of the final eight hitters to pick up her eighth win of the season.

The Titans will host North Iowa Area Community College Wednesday beginning at 4 p.m. at Titan Softball Complex and admission is free.
