The Eastern Florida State College softball team clinched a spot in the NJCAA District/FCSAA State Softball Tournament with a sweep against Palm Beach State College on Saturday.
The Titans will be heading to the state tournament after finishing second in the Southern Conference with a 12-7 record. Eastern Florida State College needed to win once on Saturday in order to clinch, but posted a 9-0 win in five innings and then 16-6 in six innings at Palm Beach State.
Catcher Brooke Diaz conitued to swing a hot bat and has hit .500 the past week with four runs scored. Lexi Harmon homered in the second game.
The wins wraps up the regular season for the Titans who finish 29-25 overall and will head to the state tournament May 3-6 at Boombah Soldiers Creek Park in Longwood. The Titans will open against Chipola at 4 p.m. May 4 in the double elimination tournament.
