Red-hot softball team hosts Palm Beach State Wednesday

The Eastern Florida State College softball team looks to avenge an early-season loss against Palm Beach State Wednesday evening at Titan Softball Complex.

The Titans come into the Southern Conference doubleheader 8-2 in their past 10 games and are 6-4 in the conference after splitting with first-place Indian River State College last weekend, handing them their first loss of the conference season.

The Panthers defeated Eastern Florida State College 5-4 in the conference round robin on March 11 but has lost four of the past five games coming into the matchup.

First baseman Caitlin Meyer has a five-game hitting streak and is hitting .636 with two home runs in those five games while starting pitcher Jordan Lawlis has won her last five starts.

The first game of the doubleheader will begin at 4 p.m. and will be shown live on WEFS-TV and online at efsctitans.com/webcast.
