Softball team sweeps Broward College

The Eastern Florida State College softball team swept Broward College in a doubleheader at Titan Softball Complex Wednesday afternoon.

The Titans won the first game 10-2 behind a strong offense that scored 10 runs on 11 hits in five innings, led by freshman Nikki Pennington's three hits while Mary Waldron and Olivia Everett each had two hits. Everett allowed one earned run and struck out three to earn her 11th win of the season.

In the second game, Caitlin Meyer hit her second home run of the season as the Titans won the second game 7-1.

Pennington and Brooke Diaz each drove in two runs and Jordan Lawlis picked up her 11th win of the season, striking out six and allowing one run.

The Titans are 22-21-1 overall and 5-3 in the Southern Conference now and will travel to Indian River State College for a key conference doubleheader on Saturday. The first game will begin at 1 p.m.
