Softball team wins pair of games, back home Thursday evening

The Eastern Florida State College softball team eclipsed last season's win total as the Titans defeated St. Louis Community College and the College of DuPage at Chain of Lakes softball complex in Titusville on Wednesday.
The Titans (16-20-1) opened with a 10-1 win over St. Louis Community College in six innings as the Titans scored five straight times in the second inning and then three more runs in the sixth inning to end the game.
Mary Waldron, Hannah Crumblish and Savana Garrison each had two hits for the Titans.
In Game 2, Waldron went 2-for-4 including her fourth home run of the season. The sophomore drove in four runs and scored twice in the 10-0 victory in five innings over the College of DuPage.
Teammate Abigail Kendrick also homered in the game.
Jordan Lawlis picked up her eighth win of the season with five shutout innings, striking out three. Lawlis also scored twice and drove in two runs in the game.
The Titans will be back at Titan Softball Complex Thursday against Iowa Central Communty College. The doubleheader begins at 4 p.m. The first game will be televised live on WEFS-TV and online at efsctitans.com/webcast
