Softball team preparing for busy week
The Eastern Florida State College softball team will try to get back on track this week with a couple of non-conference games before getting back into conference action this weekend.
The Titans have already tied their win total from last season and head into a busy week of games 14-20-1 on the season.
Freshman Nikki Pennington is tied for third in Region 8 with 40 runs batted in and is hitting .330 this season. Sophomore Mary Waldron leads the team with a .398 batting average.
Eastern Florida State College will play a couple of games Wednesday at the Chain of Lakes in Titusville. The opener will be against St. Louis Community College at 2 p.m. and then will face the College of DuPage at 4:30 p.m.
Then on Thursday the Titans will host Iowa Central Community College in a doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m. The first game of the doubleheader will be shown live on WEFS-TV and online at efsctitans.com/webcast.
This weekend, the team will hit the road to play Miami-Dade in a doubleheader Saturday beginning at noon. The Titans are 1-2 in the conference while Miami-Dade is 0-1.
