Two Titan Softball Players Moving On
Eastern Florida sophomore softball players Carly Nicholas and Alexa Snyder will continue their careers at NAIA Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tennessee.
Nicholas, a third baseman, hails from Sarasota, Florida and Riverview High. Snyder, a right-handed pitcher, hails from Las Vegas and Cimarron Memorial High.
"It's always good to see your players move on to continue both their softball careers but more importantly their academic careers," said Eastern Florida assistant coach Bob Yanczewski.
"When the players come here as freshmen they are given the goal meeting our standards on the field and the classroom with the aim of succeeding once they leave. Carly and Alexa are the latest in a long line of players putting themselves in position to do just that."
Snyder, an All-Southern Conference first team honoree, was 17-15 in the pitching circle in the regular season with a 2.71 earned run average and 129 strikeouts in 186 innings.
Nicholas had 23 hits and scored 11 runs in 40 games. She had three doubles and 14 runs batted in, hitting .250 with a .330 on base percentage.
