Titans Wrap Up Softball Regular Season This Week
Eastern Florida's softball team wraps up its regular season with non-conference road doubleheaders this week.
The Titans, 24-24 overall, visit St. Johns River (26-25) in Palatka at 4 and 6 p.m. on Thursday and Seminole State (35-20) at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday in Sanford.
Eastern Florida then begins preparation for its 12th straight NJCAA District/FCSAA Tournament appearance beginning April 30 at Historic Dodgertown in Vero Beach.
The Titans finished 12-8 and in second place in the FCSAA Southern Conference, their best result since finishing second in 2010.
Sophomore Hannah Roberts and freshman Karli Smith have been the big sticks for the Titans.
Roberts leads in hits with 52 and triples with four.
Smith is second in hits with 47. She leads in home runs with six, doubles with 13, extra base hits with 18, total bases with 82, runs batted in with 46, batting average at .379, on base percentage at .462 and slugging percentage at .661.
Rosie Lyard leads in runs with 39 and stolen bases with six.
In the pitching circle Alexa Snyder is 17-15 with a 2.71 earned run average and 129 strikeouts in 186 innings. Smith is 5-6 with three straight victories. Morgan Payne is 2-2 and Sarah Hart 0-1.
The Titans are ranked 10th in Florida.
