Titans Roll Past Broward to Clinch Second Place
Eastern Florida's softball team wrapped up its FCSAA Southern Conference schedule with a doubleheader sweep at Broward College in Davie on Friday.
The 18-3 and 12-3 victories improved the Titans conference record to 12-8, ensuring them of a second-place finish.
The Titans improved to 24-24 overall. Broward fell to 0-20 and 0-46.
Karli Smith earned her second consecutive pitching victory in the first game while going 4-for-5 from the plate with five runs batted in. Hannah Roberts went 3-for-5 with two runs batted in. Natasha Kistler went 3-for-5 with four runs scored.
Smith recorded her third straight victory in the second game, improving her record to 5-6. Sarah Hart went 3-for-5. Savannah Alley had a three-run double.
The Titans put the game away with six runs in the seventh inning.
The Titans now play non-conference games at St. Johns River and Seminole State on Thursday and Saturday before the April 29-May 1 NJCAA District/FCSAA Tournament at Historic Dodgertown in Vero Beach.
