Tough day for EFSC softball at Southern Conference Tournament
April 3, 2016 – It was a rough day for the Eastern Florida State College softball team at the Southern Conference Tournament on Sunday.
The Titans lost the first game 4-1 to Miami Dade, then dropped the second contest 9-4 to host Palm Beach State College.
EFSC finished 1-3 in the round-robin tournament.
Sarah Hart drove in the only run for the Titans in the loss to Miami Dade.
Karli Smith hit a home run and Taylor Zitiello went 2 for 3 in the second game loss against Palm Beach.
EFSC falls to 20-20 overall and is 8-6 in conference play.
The Titans will return to action on Wednesday when they return to Lake Worth to face Palm Beach State College in a doubleheader set to begin at 5 p.m.
EFSC's next home game will be on Friday when the Titans host Hillsborough Community College in a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. on the Palm Bay campus. Admission is free.
