Key Hits Fuel Titans’ Sweep of Iowa Central Doubleheader
March 13, 2016 – After winning the first game in dramatic fashion, the Eastern Florida State College softball team had an easy time in winning their second contest against Iowa Central Community College Sunday at Chain of Lakes Park in Titusville.
Taylor Ziteillo had the game-winning RBI in the bottom of the seventh inning as the Titans (13-15) came away with a 4-3 win in the first contest. Savannah Alley went 3 for 3 for and Natasha Kitsler was 2 for 3 with a double in support of pitcher Morgan Payne, who got the win.
Game two saw the Titans roll to a 13-3, five-inning victory behind some big hitting and the pitching of Karli Smith.
Hannah Roberts hit a three-run homer and had four RBIs for EFSC. Mackenzie Soughers went 3 for 4 with a double. For the second straight game, Kitsler was 2 for 3 with a double.
EFSC will be in action again on Thursday when it hosts Kishwaukee College at 5 p.m. on the Palm Bay campus. Admission is free.
