EFSC Softball Opens With Win, Loss

Eastern Florida's softball team launched its 2016 season with a win and a loss at the three-day JUCO Kickoff Classic and Showcase in Clearwater on Friday.

The Titans beat Gordon College 9-2 in their opener but then lost 8-2 to Daytona State College.

The Titans rapped out 11 hits in the first game to suport winning pitcher Alexa Snyder.   Natasha Kistler went 2-for-3 with a three-run double. Rosie Lyard also went 2-for-3. Hannah Roberts went 2-for-4.

Morgan Payne got the save. The Titans committed two errors.

Payne took the loss in the second game. The Titans collected eight hits. Sarah Hart went 1-for-3 with a double and run batted in. Kistler went 2-for-3. The Titans committed two errors

Eastern Florida plays three games on Saturday: 9 a.m. vs. Gulf Coast State College; 2:20 p.m. vs.  Odessa College and 3:20 p.m. vs. Santa Fe College. The Titans wrap things up with an 11 a.m. Sunday matchup with Hillsborough Community College.
