Men's cross country team ready for FSU Invite

The Eastern Florida State College men's cross country team will compete in the FSU Invite Friday morning at the Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee.

The men's race is scheduled to begin at 7:40 a.m. and the 8K race will feature 30 teams including host Florida State University, the University of Miami, LSU as well as NCAA Division II teams like the University of Tampa, Saint Leo and Florida Tech.

"This is the best we have looked this season, we have some guys coming off injuries and look healthy for the first time this season," Eastern Florida State College men's cross country coach Doug Butler said. "We have a really good front five and the next five have really been working hard too and are ready to run."

Dayton Law has been one of the leaders of the group, coming off a 25 minute, 25.16 second finish at the North Alabama Showcase in Huntsville, Alabama Sept. 16. Teammate Charlie Dickinson had his personal best in Alabama with a 27:07.12 run and Josh Ingalls had a 27:47.20 in that race.

"This is a good, fast 8K course and Tuesday's workout was one of the best we have had so I am excited to see what they can do on Friday," Butler said.

The men's team remains ranked No. 14 in the latest USTFCCCA National Coaches Poll.
