Men's tennis team will open Tyler National Invite with top 10 matchup Sunday

The Eastern Florida State College men's tennis team will compete in the Tyler Junior College National Invite beginning Sunday.

The Titans will play three top 15 teams in the invitational including the No. 1 team in the country in Cowley County at Tyler, Texas.

Eastern Florida State College comes into the tournament ranked third in the ITA NJCAA Division I National Rankings and will open the tournament Sunday against No. 7 Pratt Community College at Tyler Junior College.

On Monday, Eastern Florida State College will play No. 13 Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and then on Tuesday they will face No. 1 Cowley County Community College at 10 a.m.

Sophomore Hugo Car is ranked No. 1 in the individual rankings as eight of the top 10 players in the singles ranking will be playing at Tyler Junior College. Teammate Jett Leong is ranked No. 5 in the national ranking.

The men's tennis team will be back at Titan Tennis Center Friday against the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez.
