Men's tennis team remains unbeaten with win Thursday

The Eastern Florida State College men's tennis team remained unbeaten on the season with a win against Post University on Thursday.

The Titans improved to 8-0 with the victory.

Hugo Car and Lucas Gonzales won their No. 1 doubles match 6-3 to post their sixth win together at No. 1 doubles.

Colin Tavares and George Myers Millington teamed up to post a 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles and Eric Tripathi and Eavan Attie picked up the win at No. 3 doubles.

Leading 3-0, the Titans continued to pick up wins, sweeping the singles matches.

Car remained unbeaten at No. 1 singles, picking up the 6-4, 601 win and is now 8-0 at No. 1 singles. Tripathi won his No. 2 singles match with a nice rally late in the second set. After winning the first set 6-3, Tripathi fell behind 3-5 in the second set to Anton Andersen. But Tripathi fought back, holding serve to go 4-5 and then breaking Andersen to tie the match. Tripathi went on to win the set and the match 7-5. It was Tripathi's seventh win in singles this season.

Jett Leong won the No. 3 singles match in straight sets, as did Tavares, Myers Millington and Attie.

The Titans, who are ranked third in the latest ITA Collegiate Junior College Tennis Rankings, will travel to Keiser University on Monday to play the JV team before playing The Citadel in Augusta, Georgia on March 31.
