Men's tennis team defeats Davenport

The Eastern Florida State College men's tennis team picked up a 7-0 victory against Davenport University Saturday afternoon in Lake Nona.

The Titans played NCAA Division II rules meaning they won two of the three doubles match to pick up one point and then swept the singles matches. 

After picking up wins in both the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles, three matches went to three sets in singles with the Titans winning all three.

At No. 1 singles, Frederik Oervad split the first two sets, dropping the first 3-6 and then won 6-1 and 6-4 to pick up the victory.

Mikar Fisher won at No. 4 singles in a tiebreaker, winning the first set 6-0 and then lost the second 6-2. After tying 6-6 he picked up the 7-6 win with a 7-2 tiebreaker.

At No. 5 singles, Arthur Roquet won the first set 6-1, lost the second 6-0 and came roaring back for the 6-1 win in the third set.

Tomas Reche, Dario Kmet and Nicholas Mora all picked up straight set wins.

The men's tennis team (3-0) will play Barry University at the USTA complex in Lake Nona next Saturday.
