Six tennis players named to All-Academic team

Six members of the Eastern Florida State College tennis teams were recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association for their work in the classroom.

Three women's players and three men's players were selected to the All-Academic team.

Sophomores Jaime Duque and Yuliana Monroy along with freshman Shaeda Nickle made the women's team while sophomore Andreas Wejs and freshmen Nils Michel and Gabriel Robichaud made the men's team.

Monroy and Michel were also named All-Americans by the ITA.

Monroy, who was also named the Sophomore Player of the Year in the ITA, finished the season No. 6 in the Oracle/ITA national singles ranking, made it to the quarterfinals of the NJCAA National Championship Tournament in Waco, Texas.

Michel, who is ranked No. 7 in the Oracle/ITA national rankings, made it to the quarterfinals in the National Championship Tournament in Plano, Texas.
