Men's soccer team faces Tyler Junior College with chance for spot in semifinals

The Eastern Florida State College men's soccer team knows what they need to do to keep their season alive - they need to beat Tyler Junior College.

The Titans will take the field at 1:30 p.m. at Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita, Kansas needing to defeat Tyler Junior College by at least two goals after Tyler defeated Murray State 4-2 on Monday.

The Titans need to win and win big enough to advance on goal differential in order to advance to the national tournament semifinals for the second time since 2019.

"Hard to believe, but it is a credit to the tournament and how many good teams are here. It is not easy to beat anybody here, but we have another chance," Eastern Florida State College men's soccer coach Adam Butler said. "The guys have an opportunity to actually showcase what they are capable of and I hope they do that."

Sunday was just the second time all season the Titans had lost a game and after the last loss, they went on a 11-game winning streak including wins over Monroe College who is the No 4 seed in the tournament and a ranked Daytona State College team twice.

Against Murray State on Sunday, the Titans scored twice and dominated play for most of the game, but Murray State capitalized on their chances, picking up the 3-2 victory.

On Tuesday they will try to start a new winning streak.

Fans can watch the game live online at the NJCAA Network for $12 per day or $20 for the championship pass which does not include semifinals and finals which will be shown on ESPN+.
