10 men's soccer players headed to four-year schools

10 members of the Eastern Florida State College men's soccer team have signed to move on to play at four-year schools.

Goalkeeper Jorge Ortega has committed to the University of South Florida and will be playing in the American Athletic Conference next season. Ortega was the Region 8 Goalkeeper of the Year as the goalie allowed just nine goals in 11 starts and had a 0.89 goals against average with four shutouts.

South Florida went 9-7-4 overall and was 5-1-3 in the conference, losing in the conference final but was an at-large in the NCAA Tournament advancing to the second round.

Rolando Onu has chosen Loyola University in Maryland to continue his education and playing for the Greyhounds. Onu had four goals and seven assists in 12 starts this season and was named to the all-Region 8 team

Six players signed to play with NCAA Division II teams.

Jaidon Seldon has chosen to attend Lynn University in the fall after a stellar season with the Titans, scoring eight goals and assisting on 11 others. Seldon was named to the NJCAA Division I All-America Third Team and was named to the All-Region 8 Team.

Thomas Chamberlain will also stay close to home, moving on to Florida Tech in the fall. Chamberlain played 10 games at defensive back for the Titans and will play for the Panthers next season in the Sunshine State Conference.

Leandro Santoro will move on to Palm Beach Atlantic in the fall, playing for the Sailfish who finished 8-5-2 last season.

Junior Smith has chosen Chowan University after finishing with seven goals in 14 games last season. The Hawks went 6-6-5 last season and were 6-2-3 in the Conference Carolinas, falling in the conference quarterfinals.

Sam Bayly is going to Colorado State University Pueblo and will play for former Titans coach Oliver Twelvetrees. Colorado State University Pueblo was 19-4-2 last season and lost in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference championship in penalty kicks. The team made it to the NCAA Division II Tournament where they lost in the championship game.

Bayly was one of the leaders on the Titans, scoring two goals and had seven assists this season. The midfielder made the Region 8 team for the second straight season.

Preston Price will be playing for Upper Iowa who plays in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Peacocks were 2-13-2 last season. Price was injured last season but had a goal and two assists in his freshman season with the Titans.

Joseph Collins has committed to Trevecca Nazarene who went 7-9-1 last season and were 5-8-1 in the Great Midwest. Collins played in seven games this season and has two assists for the Titans.

Hayden Wood has committed to one of the top NAIA schools in the country. The defensive back will play for Central Methodist next season. The Eagles were 16-1-5 last season and won the Heart Tournament title to advance to the NAIA National Tournament where they fell in the second round.

Wood was a leader on the Titans defense as one of the center defensive backs. He also had one goal and an assist this season and was named to the All-Region 8 Team.
