Men's soccer team hosts Daytona State Saturday night

The Eastern Florida State College men's soccer team will host Daytona State College Saturday night with a trip to the postseason on the line.

The Titans and Falcons have split the first two meetings, forcing Saturday's 7 p.m. contest at Orlando Health Stadium for the Region 8 title. The winner will advance to the Southeast District Championship next weekend.

"We get to play a top team, a team that was far better than us last weekend and I feel like we have another opportunity to show how good we can be and just hope that we put on a display that shows what we can do," Eastern Florida State College men's soccer coach Adam Butler said. "We take as much as we can in terms of the fine details of the game, areas where we weren't good enough and there were a lot of them, trust me."

The Titans lost to the Falcons last weekend 3-1 after defeating them 3-1 in the first meeting of the season in September.

"I have looked back at the history and it has always gone down to the final game so it is what you would expect, I suppose," Butler said. "I am happy to be involved in the Region final and play for some hardware Saturday night."

Historically the series has been close as the Titans lead the all-time series 8-5 and games at Orlando Health Stadium have been even closer, 4-4.

Admission to Saturday night's game is free and you can watch the game live on WEFS-TV, which is channel 9 or 455 on Spectrum, 68 on DirecTV, 30 on Dish and 68 on AT&T Uverse. You can also watch the live broadcast on the EFSC Titans Sports YouTube page.
