Men's soccer team falls to Daytona State on the road

The Eastern Florida State College men's soccer team fell to Daytona State College Saturday night on the road to force a winner-take-all game next Saturday night.

The 14th-ranked Titans lost to No. 5 Daytona State 3-1 on Saturday to even the series 1-1 and force a third game at Orlando Health Stadium next Saturday night for the Region 8 Conference title.

With Daytona State College up 1-0, sophomore Sam Bayly hit a perfect corner kick that wrapped into the back corner of the net to tie the game 1-1.

But Daytona State College was awarded a penalty kick after goalkeeper Jorge Ortega was called for a foul on a breakaway. The Falcons would score a third goal with under eight minutes remaining to clinch the win.

The Titans will host Victory Rock Prep on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. before the third meeting Saturday night. Saturday night's game will be broadcast locally on WEFS-TV and online at EFSC Titans YouTube page.
