Men's soccer team falls short to No. 1 team in country

The Eastern Florida State College men's soccer team held tough against the No. 1 team in the country, falling 1-0 to Salt Lake City Community College Saturday at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman, Utah.

The men hung tough throughout the first half, but Salt Lake City CC's Taimu Okiyoshi hit a nice shot to the upper corner of the net to give the Bruins a lead with 5:39 left in the half.

The Titans came out aggressively in the second half and had several chances to tie the game as they took 10 shots, but the Bruins defense was up to the task. Eastern Florida State College's defense also shut down the Bruins offense, holding them to just three shots in the second half.

Noah Murray-Hawkins finished with three saves for the Titans.

Eastern Florida State College finished 1-1 in Utah and will be back on the road next weekend, traveling to Georgia to play Spartanburg Methodist and Georgia Military on Saturday and Sunday.
