Gueye, Kuku, Moaoui named to NJCAA Division I All-American teams

Eastern Florida State College men's soccer players Moussa Gueye, Abdel Kuku and Nour Moaoui were named to NJCAA Division I All-American teams on Friday.

Sophomores Moussa Gueye and Abdel Kuku were named first team All-Americans while Nour Moaoui was named to the second team.

Gueye, a defender from The Senegal, was the center back of a defense that allowed 13 goals in 20 games and recorded 13 shutouts. Gueye also had two goals and three assists including a goal in the national semifinals.

"Moussa has proved again this season to be one of best centerbacks in the nation. He is humble with limitless potential," Eastern Florida State College men's soccer coach Oliver Twelvetrees said. "We are all excited to see how far he can go in the game."

Kuku, a midfielder from Western Sydney, Australia, was one of the captains of the team and scored two goals and assisted on four others this season while dominating the middle of the field for the Titans. Kuku was also named the Region 8 Player of the Year earlier this season.

"Abdel has been an immense presence in midfield the last two years. He is a true winner and competitor who has provided incredible leadership for this team," Twelvetrees said.

Moaoui, a goalkeeper from Palm Bay, becomes the first Titan in program history to make the NJCAA Division I All-American team as both a freshman and sophomore. Moaoui finished his sophomore season with a program-record 12 shutouts and allowed eight goals in 17 games this season. Moaoui finished fifth in the nation in goals against average, averaging 0.46.

"Nour's consistency of performance has been incredible," Twelvetrees said. "He has broken every goal keeping record during his time here and proven to be the best Eastern Florida have ever had between the posts."

The three players are the most named to NJCAA All-American teams in a season in program history. Gueye and Kuku become the fifth and sixth first team honorees in program history. The Titans went 16-2-2 this season and reached the NJCAA Division I National Championship Game for the first time in program history.
